Area Of Focus: Sustainability and Sustainable Design Consulting, Building Envelope Consulting and Commissioning, LEED Project Administration.

Michael heads up The Stone House Group’s Sustainability Practice, providing the company’s clientele with building envelope consulting, envelope commissioning, sustainable design consulting climate action planning and LEED Project Administration services. He has over 25 years of professional consulting experience in the fields of environmental consulting, testing, remedial constriction, sustainability, and building envelope consulting, greenhouse gas assessment/reduction, and energy management.

Michael has been involved in over 60 LEED building projects to date at The Stone House Group. These projects serve the college, university, secondary school, commercial and municipal sectors. As leader of the company’s greenhouse gas assessment and management team, he works with clientele in managing their greenhouse gas emissions and in the evaluation and development of strategies for climate action planning/mitigation. Michael has co-authored climate action plans for Bates College, Villanova University, Haverford College and The Hotchkiss School.

Michael has commissioned over 1.3 million square feet of building space in the last 2 years, including a LEED V4 pilot project.  He routinely performs design reviews for new projects with regard to constructability, maintainability and continuity of control layers, and assists project teams with the evaluation of building envelope assemblies, dewpoint analysis, and materials compatibility/selection.  He also has performed a number of forensic investigations of building envelope failures and deficiencies.

Michael graduated from Keene State College in Keene, New Hampshire with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Chemistry.

Michael is a certified LEED Accredited Professional specializing in Building Design and Construction (LEED AP BD+C), a Building Envelope Commissioning Process Provider (BECxP) and a Level 1 Thermographer.
